Stringybark Cottages

Stringybark Cottages are situated a leisurely three hour drive from Melbourne and 19kms from Bairnsdale just off The Great Alpine Road near Bruthen.

The Cottages are set amongst 3 acres of native and exotic gardens where you can stroll, sit and read and enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounds. Sit and enjoy the piping of the bellbirds, arise early and catch glimpses of the local wildlife. Take a leisurely walk through the 100 acres of natural open forest and farm land.

Stringybark Cottages offer the tranquillity of a eco-friendly retreat, surrounded by forest and farmland. Deluxe accommodation with minimal impact on the environment.

Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and shared laundry facilities. There is a television, video, DVD and CD player, all linen is supplied, including doonas, and one cottage is wheel chair friendly. We provide a scrumptious  country breakfast hamper for each day.

Gumnut Cottage:
Private and relaxing Gumnut Cottage offers couples the perfect getaway. A large and roomy bathroom with double shower and a comfortable two person bath, scented bath and shower gel, quality soaps and fluffy towelling robes for your enjoyment.

Whether you are on your honeymoon, or celebrating an anniversary or birthday - the cottage offers  a luxurious  queen bed, with a pewter jacquard quilt cover and matching pillows and cushions, the living area has a fully equipped kitchenette, cosy wood fire, comfy sofa, dining table overlooking natural bushland and a hand crafted redgum coffee table.

Peppermint Gum & Blue Gum Cottages:
These tastefully decorated two bedroom miners cottages with the glowing warmth of a wood fire create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. To make your stay memorable Lois & Neil have paid attention to special details. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen. All linen  is provided, including warm fluffy doonas. Peppermint Cottage has a queen bed and two single beds and is wheel chair friendly. Blue Gum Cottage has a queen bed, single bed and a bunk bed.

Wander around the property and enjoy the bush, bird watching or just sit, read and relax. Bush walking is great and the East Gippsland Rail trial is five minutes down the road, so bring your bikes.
