Yallambee Ridge is tucked away between the Mornington Peninsula and the Dandenong Ranges, and is central to many attractions; Penguins, historic Puffing Billy Steam Train, Healesville Sanctuary, native animals, wineries and the mountains of the Dandenongs.

There are Australian premium golf courses in the area. The Beaconhills Country Golf Club, Montuna and Emerald Golf Club. The area specializes for the travel orientated tourist catering for art, pottery, ceramics and crafts through many markets, restaurants and boutique shops.
